Prayer is a humble request to Allah for goodness and benefit that is on His side. Meanwhile, the attitude of khusyu 'and tadharru' in facing Him is the essence of the statement of a servant who is expecting the achievement of something that is requested. That is the true syar'i meaning of prayer.

Prayers in the sense of approaching oneself to Allah wholeheartedly are also described in many verses of the Al-Qur'an. Even the Al-Qur'an also mentions that tadharu '(praying wholeheartedly) will only appear when accompanied by sincerity. This is a habit practiced by righteous people. With tadharu 'it can increase the mental stability, so that prayers to Allah will always be said, both in happy and in distress, in suffering and in happiness, in difficulties and in spaciousness. In the Qur'an Allah has affirmed: "And be patient with those who call on their Lord in the morning and evening expecting His good pleasure, and do not turn your eyes from them for expecting the jewels of the life of the world, and do not. You follow the person whose heart We have neglected from remembering Us and indulging in his lusts and is that his condition crosses the line. " (Surah Al-Kahf: 28).
