There are 30 verses in this Surah and it was revealed in Makkah. Some scholars say that the 19th, 20th and 21st ayaat of this Surah are ‘madani’. In the commentary of Burhan it is narrated from the Holy Prophet (Sal Allaho Alehi Wasallam) that the reward for reciting Surah as-Sajdah and Surah al-Mulk is the same as what reward is gotten if one spends the entire night of Qadr in worship.
