Spanish or Castilian is a Romance language from spoken Latin. It belongs to the Iberian group and is originally from Castile, the medieval kingdom of the Iberian Peninsula. It is the second language in the world by the number of native speakers, that is, mother tongue after Chinese.

In the extensive vocabulary collected in the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy we can find many curiosities. Among them, the longest words - electroencephalographer, with 23 characters - or the everyday words that are registered trademarks - for example, jacuzzi. Of course, there is also a place for "ugly words."
