George Robert Crow was born in 1924 in the state of Ohio but grew up across the river in West Virginia. He attended the University of Chicago and there lived a vain and empty life without God or hope. Shortly before his graduation he was converted to christ, and after brief studies at Moody Bible Institute, he became a pastor in West Virginia.
