Hamlet is the longest piece of Shakespeare and one of the most influential in English literature. The play takes place in Denmark, and deals with events following the assassination of King Hamlet (father of Prince Hamlet), at the hands of his brother Claudius.

The work goes vividly around the madness (both real and feigned), and the transformation of deep pain into excessive anger. In addition to exploring issues such as betrayal, revenge, incest and moral corruption.

The sentinels try to convince Horace, Hamlet's best friend, that they have seen the ghost of King Hamlet, father of the prince. After hearing Horace, Prince Hamlet decides to go, at night, to the place of the apparitions to see the ghost himself.

That night the ghost appears to Hamlet and informs him that it is the spirit of his father and that his uncle Claudio murdered him by pouring poison into his ear while he slept. The ghost asks him to avenge him by killing his murderer.
