One of the greatest Arab poets, he lived the best and most generous days of his life in the court of Saif al-Dawla al-Hamdani in Aleppo. He was described as a rarity of his time and a marvel of his time. I am the one whom the blind looked at my literature... and the deaf heard my words. Al-Mutanabbi was proud, courageous, ambitious, and a lover of adventures. In his poetry, he was proud of his Arabism and proud of himself. His best poetry was in wisdom, the philosophy of life, and descriptions
