This app is a survey app, to collect the data from school teachers & monitoring team about the student’s life skill education.
Project Samarthya is the Life Skills Education in special schools of Odisha,Young people from different communities face multiple challenges such as child marriage, teen-age pregnancy, low awareness on reproductive health issues, migrate to other places as unskilled laborers. The situation is further compounded by difficulty in accessing information and benefits of different government schemes and programs. All these factors expose young boys and girls to exploitation and and risk-taking behavior .. It was initiated in August 2020 as a joint collaboration between Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), with support from United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disability (SSEPD), Govt. of Odisha. 152 Special Schools across Odisha where more than 8500 adolescents with different kinds of disabilities (Visual Impairment, Hearing and Speech Disability, Physical Disability and Intellectual Disability) are studying will be capacity built through this pilot initiative in the country. School heads, special educators, caregivers, parents are the other stakeholders under Samarthya.
