The Sir John Monash Centre (SJMC) application is your personal tour guide for visiting the Sir John Monash Centre, an interpretive centre located at the Australian National Memorial near Villers-Bretonneux, France, sharing Australia’s experience of the First World War on the Western Front. More than 295,000 Australians served on the Western Front between 1916 and 1918. Of these, more than 46,000 died and more than 130,000 were wounded. The Sir John Monash Centre honours their service and sacrifice. The Sir John Monash Centre experience is designed so that visitors can gain a better understanding of the journey and contribution of ordinary Australian on the Western Front. Told in their own voices through letters, diaries, and life-sized images, a visit to the Sir John Monash Centre will be a moving experience that leaves a lasting impression.
The App features helpful information for planning your visit to the Centre. Once you arrive on site, the App becomes your personal tour guide. Install the App before you visit the Sir John Monash Centre in France, or download it on arrival for free using the Centre’s Wi-Fi network. Before you visit, use the App’s Wall Lookup feature to learn about Australians who are commemorated on the Australian National Memorial.
