Note: Shown are the current water quality data such as electrical conductivity, pH, dissolved oxygen and water temperature of the water quality monitoring stations in Lower Saxony rivers. In addition, as indicated meteorological parameters air temperature and also registers the turbidity at individual stations. An update of the data is an hourly basis.

The NLWKN (Lower Saxony State Office for Water Management, Coastal Defense and Nature Protection) operates in Lower Saxony numerous continuously monitored water quality monitoring stations on rivers in the catchment areas of the Weser, Elbe and Ems and the coastal tributaries to the North Sea. Purpose of recording various parameters is to register exceptional hydrological or meteorological conditions and accidents as quickly as possible. Such events can lead to damage to water uses and aquatic communities, must be so quickly responded to initiate countermeasures or to secure evidence.
