“[This is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded.”

The Qur-aan, a miraculous revelation of Allawh upon Prophet Muh’ammadd (Peace and Blessings be upon Him) lays the intellectual and moral ground for a good Muslim life by reviving the past (through stories of Prophets and their followers) and establishing a code of conduct for a successful and practical Islamic vision of the good life, serving as an eternal guidance for all mankind. Correct recitation, thorough understanding, critical analysis and research into the messages revealed in the Qur-aan becomes crucial with the evolution of human knowledge and advancing times in order to acknowledge and appreciate Islamic knowledge and its tremendous impact on our daily lives. Thus, it becomes a spiritual duty for all Muslims to learn correct Qur-aanic recitation in Arabic and carefully examine and reflect upon its translation so that we may be illuminated by its guidance.
