The trees are part of Malmö's ecosystem. They clean the air, lower the summer temperature, provide shelter and breathing and much more. The city's structure is determined by its streets, buildings and trees. The trees help us find the right one and make us feel at home. The trees make Malmö more beautiful and greener!
Malmö is built on shore meadows, on arable land and fillings in the sea. In the open landscape we strive for protection, protection that the trees can give us. The trees give the cityscape character, which changes over time. Just over 10 years ago, the common tree was the most common tree in Malmö. Then the alms disease struck. The alms died or got cleaned up.
