In Bihar, one of the largest congregations of devotees takes place annually at Sultanganj for trekking to famous Lord Shiva Temple at Deoghar. Every year during the month of Shrawan (July – Aug.), lakhs of pilgrims undertake a pilgrimage from Sultanganj in the district of Bhagalpur to Deoghar in the district of Dumka (Jharkhand) for worship at the world famous Jyotirling temple of Lord Shiva.
