India has set a mission to develop eco-friendly National Highways with participation of the community, farmers, NGOs, private sector, institutions, government agencies and the Forest Department for economic growth and development in a sustainable manner.

This is an initiative towards fulfilling India's commitment for voluntary carbon emissions reduction of up to 35 % by 2030.
