Therefore, before initiating the expensive high-performance liquid chromatography, medical practitioners can use it for further recommendation. Common people can also easily use SUSOKA to identify whether they need to consult medical practitioners for beta-thalassemia screening.

The most effective way to combat beta-thalassemia is to prevent the birth of children with thalassemia major. Therefore, a cost-effective screening method is essential to identify beta-thalassemia traits and differentiate normal individuals from carriers. Based on five hematological parameters (Hb, RDW, MCH, MCV, RBC), SUSOKA is developed by using a scoring mechanism for beta-thalassemia traits detection.
