In Halden, which at that time was called Frederikshald, several football clubs were founded in the years from 1889 onwards. Among them also a club that was named Kvik. Just when this association was founded is not known. However, it went in 1904 or 1905 with two other clubs; Start and Halden Sports Association. This new club was called Halden Idrætsforening.
